Possible 4th District Congressional candidate switches to Republican Party

Jenna Marie Bourgeois, who previously announced her intention to run as a Democratic candidate for the 4th District Congressional Race, has switched to the Republican Party.
Bourgeois stated on her campaign site that since she declared herself a Democratic candidate, she has received attacks and threats by other members of the party. There were no specifics.
Bourgeois said on her website that she has always felt "very middle of the road" between the two parties and that the Republican party is more in line with her professional background.
Bourgeois previously stated that her main issues include a proposed single-payer health care plan, strengthening rural broadband and civil rights, especially for the LGBTQ community. She is transgender.
Candidates may start filing to run in February. The Republican primary will take place in August. The seat is held by Republican U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler.
